
Summit Fire Protection Expands Presence in Iowa with Acquisition of Federal Fire Equipment Co.
ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA – Summit Fire Protection Co., a subsidiary of SFP Holding, Inc. (“Summit Companies”), is pleased to announce the acquisition of Advance Fire Equipment LLC dba Federal Fire Equipment Co., effective September 9, 2025.
Federal Fire Equipment has been a trusted name in fire and life safety across North Central Iowa since 1959. Founded in Mason City as Short’s Fire Equipment Company, it was later acquired by former Mason City firefighter Lowell Moore in 1973. Over the past six decades, Federal Fire Equipment has grown into a full-service fire protection provider, offering fire alarms, sprinklers, fire extinguishers, suppression systems, and emergency lighting.
