“Lifesaver Award” Presented to Duluth Office

The Duluth office and sprinkler fitters received an award on August 6 from the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) because of a lifesaving event this past year. On January 13, 2019 in Virginia, MN, a fire broke out at the Ivy Manor Complex. An unattended candle started a fire and threatened the lives and property of the residents in the 41-unit apartment building. Instead, a single sprinkler installed by Summit Companies employees Jeff Keppers and Steve Homick extinguished the fire.

Keppers and Homick were awarded a Letter of Commendation from the National Fire Sprinkler Association for their efforts to protect lives and property through the use of fire sprinklers. They were also presented with the “Lifesaver Award” from the Minnesota Chapter of the National Fire Sprinkler Association.
